stevie has no business here
I know that raw is a very cliché word to throw around (but to be fair so is a lot of music). so that did not start out very positive. my sentiment toward this project and 12" is very positive.
it's somehow a continuation of levitation praxis pt 4 as this record offers that same raw sensation in a smaller space.
kicks have clicks. dry, pleasant sounds. a two sider which I find essential.
Over the course of two decades Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe has cemented himself as one of the most creative, disciplined, and innovative musicians working. From his ambient experiments on the Kranky imprint through countless CDR and cassettes releases, Robert has shown distinct and determined growth, culminating in an incredible 2016 with career cappers on DDS, Type, and Land and Sea.
His MILD VILNC debut is no exception - 2 tough as nails modular workouts occupying an imaginary space where Ákos Rózmann was a member of Basic Channel. Peerless.
